They arrived in Ardmore at 4.15pm to a big crowd and the sound of bagpipes playing. They are both very thin, knackered, covered in blisters and sores like you wouldn't believe - but both delighted. It was pretty emotional, especially with the pipes playing on their arrival - incredible.
When Jeff and Harry arise from their well earned 5 star beds at The Cliff House Hotel, they will post a blog.
p.s. A message for John Willacy - Jeff say hi and will call you later

ReplyDelete>>>Will Freya spoil the party?
ReplyDeleteI've been watching with interest the preparation of the boys for the upcoming Around Ireland 2011 exped. With only a few weeks to go it was especially disappointing to hear that Chris Millington had reluctantly decided to withdraw. I'm sure that the remaining members, Jeff Allen and Harry Whelan, can deliver the goods, weather allowing. That said, I hear a rumour that Freya Hoffmeister may be giving the team a few days head start and chasing them around - an interesting addition to the mix. I'd keep a good lookout over my shoulder if I were you boys<<<
Found this...wonder who put that rumor out...at least it made you guys running! :-)))
I'd need a bit more training for chasing Ireland...a continent or such...so maybe in 2014 then!
Well done, boys! Congrats to you both!
XO, Freya
